Duke and New Owner Find Perfect Lifestyle Fit

DukeDuke, a 10-year-old Golden Retriever/Setter mix, arrived at the Animal Rescue League of Boston’s shelter in October 2008 when his previous owner was unable to care for him properly. After being treated by the veterinary staff for skin irritations, he was made available for adoption and became an immediate favorite in the adoption area. Happy, active and affectionate Duke could often be found behind the front desk in the adoption area, often with his favorite red ball in his mouth. He loved long walks and playing fetch and his all-time favorite activity was getting belly rubs. And the often-repeated mantra of staff, volunteers and repeat visitors was “I can’t believe he hasn’t been adopted yet!” Click here to read Duke's story.
